Q. How to use the valet parking:
- Approach the loading zone. Drive slowly into the loading zone and stop behind the car in front of you. Many times a valet will want you to pull forward or move to another position in the loading zone before you exit your vehicle. Watch for direction from the Valet.
-
Exit the vehicle. The valet will do their best to approach and open your door for you, as well as passenger doors. However, sometimes time and circumstances do not permit this. Make the judgment yourself about whether it is within the capability of the valet to perform this service. If there is a lot of traffic and only one or two valets, it may not be possible. When you exit the vehicle, listen carefully for instructions from the valet concerning price, closing time, and how to get your vehicle back. These details are very important.
-
Inform the valet of any problems with the car. You do not need to include every detail of the vehicle’s performance, but if a door only opens a certain way, or the alarm is finicky, most valets appreciate this information.
-
Pick up your vehicle. Once you are ready for your car, hand your ticket to the valet standing closest to the valet stand (also known as the “Zone Captain”), or to the Valet who asks for it. Please do not mistake the rushed atmosphere for rudeness. The time of day or weather can cause a high demand of service and the valets do their best to ensure no one waits for an unacceptable amount of time.
-
Watch for your car. When you see your car, gather your party and get in safetly. This is the most common time to tip the valet. Valet tips are NEVER obligated but always appreciated. Prestige valets pool their tips and divide them equally. It does not matter to whom the tip is given.
-
Carefully pull away. Watch for other traffic as well as valets. Be aware of your surroundings.
Q. How do I know where the designated valet zone is?
A. Signs will be posted to lead you to the valet zone. Once in the zone, a sign will indicate to you where to stop your vehicle.
Q. Do you provide wheelchair or umbrella service?
A. We do provide umbrella service during inclement weather if requested in the contract. This may require an additional valet to be added to the event to ensure prompt drop off and retrieval of vehicles. Wheelchair assistance is provided at designated locations. When you use the valet services at the St. Cloud Hospital please indicate the need of a wheelchair to the valet and one will be procured.
Q. What is an appropriate tip for a valet parking service?
A. The average tip is about $3, although $2 is considered the acceptable minimum. Aside from tipping your valet also remember to be polite and to thank the person for parking and fetching your car – after all they are saving you time and trouble by doing the job for you.
Q. Will the valet know how to drive my car?
A. Our experience ranges from driving basic compact cars to exotic sports cars to delivery trucks. We park all vehicles with care ensuring that they are returned to the owner in the same condition in which it was received.
Q. What do I do if I lose my claim ticket?
A. If you lose the claim ticket required to claim your vehicle several steps may occur. First we will ask for a description of the vehicle including license plate number and the key chain that accompanies said vehicle. You must show your drivers license and fill out a lost claim ticket form. We will verify either through calling the police or by comparing the registration on the vehicle to your drivers license that you are the owner of the vehicle. If at this point the valet feels satisfied that you are the owner of the vehicle it will be retrieved and returned to you. This process can take a substantial amount of time. Please do your best not to lose your claim ticket.
Q. What if something happens to my car?
A. While this situation is rare, if damage to the vehicle occurs due to an error made by the valet, we will pay to restore the car to its condition upon receipt of the vehicle. If the problem was caused by mechanical malfunction (i.e. brakes stop functioning, alternator stops working, door dings caused by other customers, etc.) we will not assume responsibility to fix these issues as they were not caused by our valet parking the vehicle.
Q. Is Prestige Parking & Valet a national company?
A. No. We are a locally owned company serving the St. Cloud community and surrounding areas. While national companies will set up large accounts around the country, the contracts awarded to them take money out of the community. We are dedicated to building up the community of St. Cloud. This is done through employment opportunities provided by our company and funds being put back into the community through giving to local charities.
